About a month ago, I’ve noticed that every time I add media library content and then turnaround and attempt to “View” it, I get the following error message …

Not found, error 404

The page you are looking for no longer exists. Perhaps you can return back to the homepage and see if you can find what you are looking for. Or, you can try finding it by using the search form below.

Prior to this, I have always added media library content and have been able to “View” it, after it has been added to the library. Has there been a recent system WordPress update or something? … Please advise …

Warmest Regards,

North & South Twin Lake District …

      This is normal.

Below is Wisconsin Lakes’ lakekit.net service provider’s (Ken) explanation:

“if you are viewing an image that is not assigned/attached to a page using the “view attachment page” link in the media library you should be redirected to a 404 error as the image is not assigned to anything as of yet.

When you view an image that is assigned/attached somewhere the link terminates properly and you view the image on the page it resides on.

The alternative action is to click on the “original image” link which will bring up the image in the browser from the upload folder the image resides in.

      I hope this helps.”
